LATEST NEWSLETTER: JULY 2026
CLEAR VISION, NEW ADVENTURES
Typically, July and August are two of my least favorite months of the year. I’m not a hot-and-sticky kind of girl. Spring and fall are my thing: cool nights, comfortable days, and mild temperatures. But I have to say, the last few weeks have been filled with nothing but joy.
As many of you know, my husband and I traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, a few weeks ago for a very high-risk eye procedure. We were fortunate to have one of the best ophthalmologists in the world caring for me, and thanks to a lot of prayers, the results have been outstanding.
The doctor was able to remove a thick film that was covering the lens of my right eye, the only eye I’m able to see out of. Though it took about a week for me to fully appreciate the difference, I’m absolutely ecstatic with the results. Everything in my world became so much clearer. No haze. I’m even finding that I can see much better in dark places. I particularly noticed the difference in familiar settings where I was used to seeing my surroundings through that fog hanging over everything. Now it’s crisp and clear.
My sincere thanks to everyone who prayed for me and sent well wishes. Getting back to my normal routine over the last couple of weeks has been a pleasure and something I won’t take for granted.
BOOK NEWS
Thanks to the amazing outcome of my procedure, I’ve made significantly more progress on my latest book than I expected. The second book in the Argent Code series, Code Corrupted, is about halfway complete.
Yep, you heard that right. Halfway done!
I anticipate finishing the first draft by the end of July, which means I’ll be right on track for a September release.
WELCOME, NEW CODE COMPROMISED READERS
I know many new subscribers to this newsletter joined through the bonus chapter for Code Compromised. I want to welcome each one of you and thank you so much for reading.
If you haven’t already, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider leaving a review of Code Compromised. Reviews help new readers discover both the novel and the series. Sales have been very encouraging, but I’d love to have a few more reviews to give those who are new to my books a little extra confidence in giving them a try.
WELCOME TO SHADOWGUARD LEGACY
For those of you who have read both the Shades of Peril series and the new Argent Code series, you know that while the series themselves are independent, their worlds are interconnected. As I continue writing more books in this universe, I’ve been thinking about how to make that connection clearer for future readers.
Code Corrupted actually gave me the opportunity to name the world of Braxton, Aisla, Callan, Tyson, Jordan, Darwin, and so many other characters who’ve come to life in the pages of these books.
From this point forward, all novels that take place in this shared universe will be known as Shadowguard Legacy Books. The Shadowguard Legacy logo pictured above will also appear in the upper left-hand corner of each novel. Whenever you see that shield, you’ll know you’re entering the world of Seraph, Argent, and several other covert agencies yet to be revealed.
These are the stories of heroes who fight in the shadows to protect others, including the men and women they love.
I’m excited to continue expanding the Shadowguard Legacy world through many more novels in the years ahead.
AUDIOBOOK UPDATE
The audiobooks for Crimson Warning and White Tiger are now complete and available through all major audiobook retailers, including Audible.
I’m also about one-third of the way through recording Code Compromised. New chapters are released as I record them, with one new chapter posted each week on Patreon. If you’re an audiobook fan, I’d love for you to join me there for early access to all of my audio content.
My next email will reveal the cover for Code Corrupted and, hopefully, announce its official release date as well.
As always, thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world to me.
Abundant Blessings,
Meridith Gibbens
